Kensington
A renovation that would inject even more character into their 100-year-old gentleman’s bungalow was the brief from Craig Linke directors, Craig Linke and Lauren Zwaans. The owners worked closely with Craig Linke’s in-house interior design team to complete the stage one renovation to the entire downstairs footprint of their property. Drawing on dual inspirations from their stints living in California and London, an interplay of American and British influences is evidenced through the ornate ceiling details, statement stone fireplaces, bespoke cabinetry, soft furnishing selections, and the palette employed throughout.
The scope of the project includes new ornate timber ceilings to the entry, dining room, whiskey room and front porch; insulation to the entire ceiling, electrical rewiring, new herringbone-laid Hekke European oak timber flooring throughout, new combustion fireplaces in the living spaces, significant renovation works to both bathrooms and the laundry, and restoration works to the front verandah and facade. The quality of execution and finishes throughout out the home highlights our commitment to traditional building methods and artisanal craftsmanship.
